Why I created a new web site

As a photographer I spend a lot of time improving my skills, both in capturing images and developing the raw images.

My two favorite raw developers are “Darktable” and “RawTherapee”. These programs are constantly being improved and are much better than the versions I used in the past.

Looking at my images on this site I often wish I could go back and change them using my improved skills and better software.

Editing all the images on my website is not a task I would wish to undertake. New projects are more exciting fixing old ones.

One new project I considered was creating a web site dedicated solely to photography.

This new site would feature my best (or favorite) images processed with newer software, improved skills, and in a larger size.

My new website is https://gallery.james-young.org and was created using the excellent jAlbum desktop application designed for photographers.

Right now the site contains only images for the Saint Marks National Wildlife Refuge but I plan to add other locations in the near future.

As always I never do sky replacement!

Check it out, I hope you like it!
